Justine Petersen Housing and Reinvestment Corp. provides microloans to business owners whose businesses are geographically located within Kansas City’s Historic Northeast. These loans typically range from $2,500 to $30,000.

St. Louis-based Justine Petersen is one of the largest and fastest growing municipal micro-lending programs in the nation. The corporation’s collaboration with the City of Kansas City and Historic Northeast stakeholders is part of a larger effort to optimize economic conditions within the community to attract and retain residents and businesses. Requirements exist to ensure the microloans are being used appropriately. Please see the links below for details.


Need a loan to help start or grow your business? Unable to get a traditional bank loan due to startup status, small size of loan, or credit issues? Own or operate a business in the Historic Northeast? You may be a candidate for the new Northeast Microloan Program administered by Justine Petersen. Applicants must attend a free informational seminar prior to application. Microloan Program features include:

• Loans between $2,500 and $30,000
• Interest rates between 8-12 percent with terms up to 72 months
• More than $50,000 in small business loans already closed in the Historic Northeast since summer 2013!
